01 – 03 Schilleroper. The naked grid is all that remains of a circus theatre opened in 1891. When the circus moved to Reeperbahn in 1899, the building became a theatre where everything was played from Schiller to Brecht’s „Mahagonny“ to kinky revues. In the early 21st century „swing partys“ revived a little of the old spirit, later it became a club, now the steel skeleton is all that’s left.
